Why we

Copper has high environmental friendliness and anti-corrosion properties. This metal is quite soft, so the workpiece can be easily deformed with a mechanical tool. Laser cutting of copper is the optimal way of cutting, since it takes place without direct contact of the tool with the material.

Features of laser cutting copper

Copper is characterized by high thermal conductivity, which means that when exposed to heat, heat quickly spreads deep into the material. Therefore, a high power laser is required to cut the workpiece. With the correct choice of operating mode, the structure of the material is completely preserved, and the edge has no defects.

How is copper laser cutting

Copper laser cutting is carried out on CNC machines. Initially, the layout and cutting scheme are made in the form of an electronic layout. Then, on the basis of this drawing and cutting parameters, a control program is created, by executing which the machine can work in autonomous mode. The cutting tool is a laser beam. A powerful luminous flux, focused into a small spot, when it hits a copper workpiece, causes the metal to melt at the point of impact. This is how the cut appears. The laser operates locally, so there is no danger of damaging the product. Due to the small diameter of the beam and the high speed of movement of the tool, the cut is thin (up to 0.1 mm) and clear.
